All a visitor would have to do is show a license and they would receive numerous samples at a distillery. This free offering worked for a while until more distilleries opened, offered more free samples, and people started “abusing” it. People have increasingly been hopping between each moonshine distillery and consuming enough alcohol to get legally drunk, which has led to increased public intoxication. To counter this “abuse”, the city has imposed a $5 fee that distilleries must charge each guest in order to receive free samples. Some distilleries such as Ole Smoky Moonshine then offer a $5 credit on any purchase to help guests “even out” the new charge.

The Moonshine Mountain Coaster is one of a few mountain coasters in the United States that has been skyrocketing in popularity over the past year. It is created by Weigan, a German manufacturer of the ride who builds high-thrill rides while taking extreme precautions for safety in every coaster they design. The ride begins by pulling your individual sled up the mountain, which in itself is a peaceful ride surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Once at the top, the cable releases and you begin your ride down the mountain letting gravity do the work. You can choose to coast easily down the mountain while using the handbrake and enjoying the views, or you can choose to go faster at speeds close to 40mph for a thrilling ride of twists, turns, and drops! Or you can simply ride twice and enjoy both!
