The 2018 Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales in Gatlinburg, TN takes place June 22 – August 11 each night beginning at 6pm and lasting until 11pm. The performers arrive nightly and setup in various parts of downtown Gatlinburg to perform free, family-friendly entertainment that people have increasingly enjoyed over the past few years since it began.
During the Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales in Gatlinburg you can experience traditional Appalachian music, bluegrass, cloggers, storytellers, and more! The variety of performers makes you want to walk the parkway just to see and hear all that is offered. There are even people that will share how musical instruments were made centuries ago in the mountains or learn how people lived in the mountains without the modern conveniences we have today. July 27, 2014 at 10:35 amMy husband and I were just in Gatlinburg this past week on a motorcycle trip for our 22nd anniversary. We love Gatlinburg and have visited many times as a family.
The best part of Gatlinburg besides the history is Tales and Tunes! We discovered that after a long day of riding the mountains there was nothing better than walking the streets listening to the different performers in the evening. And the Shindig was the greatest ending to the day! We looked forward to every evening and actually raced to the Elks Plaza each night to see the Shindig.
We can’t thank you all enough for the time and dedication you put into the program. You are sincerely wonderful people to volunteer to share your talents without charging for the entertainment. It’s a wonderful program with OUTSTANDING performers.
May the good Lord bless you all!
