One of the best things about Gatlinburg is that there’s always something new to experience, whether it’s a new attraction or a brand-new restaurant. If you've been to Gatlinburg before, you may have some favorite restaurants already, but there's always room for more! On the other hand, you can learn about some places to eat on your first trip to this wonderful vacation destination in the Smokies! Either way, let us tell you about our favorite new restaurants in Gatlinburg that have recently opened this year:

1. Myron Mixon's BBQ

Myron Mixon's BBQ is Gatlinburg's newest addition to the incredible barbeque restaurant scene. Located where Crawdaddy's used to be, Myron Mixon serves award-winning Southern barbeque at its finest, cooked low and slow, along with homemade sides, delicious cocktails, and more! BBQ lovers won't be able to get enough of the in-house smoked meats; the Myron Mixon menu features everything from pulled pork and baby back ribs to quarter chicken, smoked bologna, and unique dishes like their baby back mac and cheese bites or the Pig N Grits, crispy pork belly with a pimento cheese grit cake and cola glaze.

We are so excited that Blue Moose Burgers and Wings is coming to Gatlinburg! Their original location in Pigeon Forge is one of the best spots for wings in the Smokies, and we know this sports bar is going to be a big hit in downtown Gatlinburg too. The Blue Moose location in Gatlinburg is where LandShark Bar & Grill used to be, right next to Ole Red and Speedwerkz. The family-friendly atmosphere, great burgers and bar food, and convenient location are sure to make it a popular place to eat for locals and tourists alike.

3. Taco Trail Taqueria & Bar

Taco Trail Taqueria & Bar is a restaurant with a unique concept. That combines a Mexican-inspired menu with a Smoky Mountain feel. Come try it out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! For an appetizer, get chips with queso, guacamole, or salsa for dipping. If you come at the beginning of the day, get your energy up with a breakfast taco. Lunch or dinner options include the Flaming Cheeto Taco. The chicken in it is breaded with Hot Cheetos. It is also topped with queso and Pico de Gallo as well. Milder options include the BBQ Pork Taco and the Chicken Bacon Ranch Taco. You can also get a burrito or a burrito bowl. For dessert, finish on a sweet note with a churro. It comes with a side of dulce de leche, a rich, delicious, and oh-so-creamy topping made from milk and sugar.

4. Smoky Mountain Smash

Gatlinburg SkyPark

Smoky Mountain Smash is a restaurant at Clayton’s Landing, the newest mountaintop expansion at the Gatlinburg SkyPark. All their delicious burgers have bold flavors that come from fresh ingredients. One of them is called the Southern Charmer. It has a local fresh beef patty and sausage patty. The toppings include onion rings, Pimento cheese, and their house-made Ole Smoky Moonshine BBQ sauce! Pair with a side of fries and your favorite drink. For dessert, you’ll love Mama Nette’s Apple Pie Log. Enjoy all your food as you look out at stunning views of the Smokies. Clayton’s Landing has lots of comfortable seating, creating an outdoor dining experience that instantly relaxes you. There are also firepits to help you stay warm on chilly days as well as summer evenings!
